Abstract

 Promotion of existing performance of different activities and processes requires recognition of key elements, ranking them on the basis of priorities, and taking appropriate course of actions. In this research, a combined model based on integration of existing performance appraisal with fuzzy group- AHP is introduced. For this purpose, PERFORMANCE GAP is derived from evaluation of existing performance, and relevant weights from fuzzy AHP to decide the ultimate priority for improvement. Our work describes the theoretical foundation of the model, and provides real world application utilizing data collected from a regional manufacturing firm. In contrary to the previous studies in which improvement elements are used separately, this research presents an integrated model that seeks to eliminate shortcomings of the earlier methods. The priority of these factors and the gap between current situation and the ideal situation was identified by a panel of experts. The results lead to an improved model that recognizes wider gaps in comparison to earlier models, giving decision makers an appropriate tool for RESOURCE ALLOCATION. Due to the lack of a software to analyze combination of AHP group fuzzy and PERFORMANCE GAP, a new software was also developed by the authors that is already been used successfully by other researchers.
