Abstract

The holy QURAN is an eternal miracle, revealed to the holy Prophet of Islam in Arabic, and the grand scholars of Arabic literature have been unable to produce even one Sura like it.The holy Prophet of Islam was fully cognizant of different aspects of the holy QURAN; however, the Muslims have understood the holy QURAN verses according to their own level of knowledge. Thus, the holy Prophet’s companions used to acquire the realities of the holy QURAN from him and then attended to compile those facts as the COMMENTARY of the holy QURAN. It is worthy to note that there have always been a diversity of opinions over the first commentator. The present article intends to prove that SAEED IBN JOBAIR has been the first commentator of the holy QURAN.
