Title

REVELATION TO THE HOLY PROPHET AND ITS DIFFERENCE WITH POETS’ AND MYSTICS’ INSPIRATION

Pages

Abstract

The revelatory experience of the Devine prophets is considered as the most significant historical event in man society, the token of which is man’s familiarity with his own Lord and the receipt of heavenly religions. However, some questions, including the way the Divine prophets receive and decode the revelatory concepts and the mechanism and quality of their revelatory relationship, have been frequently arisen by the thinkers and scholars. Apropos of the holy Quran, the revelatory experience is a mutual relationship, and the Divine message is revealed to the prophet whether through God, the Almighty, or the angels to deflect it to the people as it is. Studying the REVELATION mechanism through psychoanalytical approach, a number of researchers have considered REVELATION as a type of poetic and mystic INSPIRATION. This view infers that REVELATION originates from the Divine prophets’ heart, and since the prophets have been reared in society, the REVELATION is no doubt affected by the social CULTUREs and conditions of the time. The present article, using analytical-descriptive approach based on the holy Quran verses, intends to survey the differences between the holy Prophet’s revelatory experience and the poetic and mystic INSPIRATIONal experience and to clarify that the origin of poetry and mysticism is the poets and mystics’ heart, affected by the social conditions, while the origin of REVELATION is the Divine omniscience, which is surely remain unaffected by the time social conditions.
