Abstract

The aim of this research is to study the MORPHOLOGY of "The Salaman and Absal " based on VELADIMIR PROP's pattern and to implement his morphological approach in Jami's work and distinguish how his theory adapts with THE SALAMAN AND ABSAL. The exploration of FUNCTIONs, analysis of the stories, and establishing the structures are of the aims of this paper. The research is descriptive and the results have been analyzed by Prop's bibliographical method. This story has twenty one FUNCTIONs and four movements in which the second movement follows the first one respectively. Each of the four movements has the similar and simple structure and their extension is difficult without the conflict and victory of the self initiations.
