Abstract

Too many phrases and stories have been narrated in the ARABIC LITERARY HERITAGE through which one can allude to the importance of KHORASAN and the people of that region in the ISLAMIC HISTORY and the qualities attributed to KHORASAN. According to 'The Tarikhe Tabari' the history of Islam has begun in KHORASAN since Omar ibn Khattab- the 2nd Caliph- approximately 18th or 22nd A. H. (vol. 5 p. 268). Gradually KHORASAN has played its role in the Islamic Culture and History.The present article tries to demonstrate the impact of KHORASAN on the verses of ancient Arab poets. Therefore, we referred to The Tarikhe Tabari and The Alkamelo Fittarikh of Ibn Atheer and from numerous poems in which some points are specialized to KHORASAN, extracted abstracts and translated them into Farsi. The topics of some POETRY have historic allusions and sometimes they describe KHORASAN and other times they include the praise and satire of the Emirs of that territory which are thoroughly useful for the recognition of its history.
