Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the youth generation LEISURE TIME as an important factor in reducing their inclination toward drug use in North Khorasan Province, by comparing drug addicted youth in ADDICTION treatment centers of Social Welfare Organization with other non-addicted youth. This was a survey study and a questionnaire was used for data collection. The data was analyzed by SPSS software. The findings showed that: 1-Non-addicted youth devoted more of their free time to leisure activities.2-Leisure time activities of addicted youth have less diversity comparing to non-addictedones.3-The rate of satisfaction of facilities in addicted youth is less than non-addicted.3-Addicted youth devote a little percentage of their free time to leisure activities. Finally, the problems and shortages in this regard are: the lack of proper PLANNING by government, financial problems, lack of LEISURE TIME facilities, lack of prediction of facilities according to youth needs and lack of proper PLANNING by family.
