Abstract

In this paper, we are clarifying the youth's needs for the consumption of music. As it is said music and its varieties are changing rapidly because of modern possibilities among the societies. As the function of society is altering accordingly, the need for the music is subject for a big change as well. This study was done on the method of survey and the subjects were selected on a random classified sampling system. Boys and girls were chosen among the total population of 4464 students. The results show that the students' needs for consumption of music is the relief of tension, emotional, cognitive, personal solidarity and the need for social cohesion. Thus these variables have mote effect on the youth music selection.
