Abstract

The present paper deals with analysis on one of the forgotten and outstanding structures of SIMILE in Persian literature and rhetoric. In this study, we have explored into visual and lingual characteristics, artistic and aesthetic applications, history and development trend, reason for lack of attention to this literary structure and way of its representation has been analyzed within rhetoric books. With respect to this fact that such type of SIMILE has been yet unknown so currently title of “Adjectival SIMILE ” has been selected for this type. Adjectival SIMILE has several structures and outstanding artistic applications, which may increase its application extent. Whereas adjectival SIMILE is the acme of wholeness and pleasure in Khaghani’s verse so the present survey has been carried out based on his odes.
