Abstract

The research purpose is to evaluate the effectiveness of COUPLE COMMUNICATION PROGRAM in resolving the marital dissatisfaction & conflict hence, the sample comprised 19 couples referred to Arak counseling centers having been married for at least 2 years & not over 15 years, they were then randomly grouped in to experimental & control groups. Having undergone the marital conflict pretest one week prior to the implement of COUPLE COMMUNICATION PROGRAM, the experiment was then conducted by offering 10 sessions on the mentioned subject & marital conflict post test was then performed one week after the last session. Results demonstrated that COUPLE COMMUNICATION PROGRAM could significantly decrease (p<0/01)marital conflict furthermore, there was significant difference with regard to subject's scores in the following subscales: Decline of cooperation & sexual intercourse & increase of emotional reactions toward one another, deriving children's support, Developing interpersonal relationship with one's own relative & restricting it with the spouses' relatives & friends & finally dissociating financial matters from other issues.
