Abstract

The MMPI test is one of the five common tests which are mostly employed by psychologists and psychology counselors. In this study, the relationship between the scores of the subjects (38 women and 21 men) in MMPI scales and DIAGNOSIS based on clinical judgment on the different dimensions of the characteristics of the subjects such as the intensity of problems, motivational distress, complexity of problem, level of resistance, coping style, and problem solving all were investigated by using purposeful sampling method. The analysis of the findings indicated that elevation, depression, anxiety, and psychological weakness have a connection with motivational distress, complexity of problem, and elevation of malingering indexes. Also, there is a relationship between depression a long with psychological weakness and schizophrenia; a relationship between the level of resistance and elevation in scales of L, K, 16 and 1; also a relationship between coping style and 6, 4, and 9 elevation and also a relationship between coping style and elevation of social in troversion, psychological weakness and depression.
