Abstract

Ali Shariati belongs to an intellectual generation who tried to compose modern concepts with religious ones, apart from its defects and shortages, in order to make a new synthesis as a basis for an ideal society and politics. These thinkers, besides their influences on the intellectual sphere of decades, they also contributed in shaping the ISLAMIC REVOLUTION and its institutions. The article tries to compare some of the modern concepts of Shariati's thought relating to political MODERNITY and measures its effect on the ISLAMIC REVOLUTION.
