THE STUDY AND COMPARISON OF AS, PB AND ZN HEAVY METALS IN MUSCLE OF WHITE LEG SHRIMP (LITOPENAEUS VANNAMEI) AND INDIAN PRAWN (FENNEROPENAEUS INDICUS)

Abstract

 This study was done in order to determination of concentration of Lead, Zinc and Arsenic HEAVY METALS in the MUSCLE of white leg SHRIMP (Litopenaeus vannamei) and Indian prawn (Fenneropenaeus indicus), in 2011. In this study, 36 samples of Litopenaeus vannamei and Fenneropenaeus indicus were collected from the SHRIMP culture of Choebdeh from Abadan. Metals were extracted from the tissues using dry digestion method and concentration of the HEAVY METALS was measured by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer Perkin Elmer 4100. Data were analyzed with SPSS17 software in terms of oneaway (ANOVA). The highest concentration of HEAVY METALS to Zn in MUSCLE of Fenneropenaeus indicus was 15.16±0.4 mgkg-1dw. Also the lowest concentration of heavy metal as in MUSCLE of Litopenaeus vannamei was 0.087±0.004 mgKg-1dw. The concentration of Pb and Zn in MUSCLE of Litopenaeus vannamei and Fenneropenaeus indicus have significant difference (P<0.05), but concentration of as have no significant difference (P>0.05). In this study, concentration of Pb, Zn and as was lower than international standards.
