Abstract

Caucasia is a mountainous land and has clans and tribes which saw influential wars and military expeditions in 13th centuary(A.H) on many changes after that time. One of the main reasons of those wars was Russia expansionist policy. CAUCASIA was a rich land which important trade roads should passed among it. The existence of tribal groups with diverse religions and dominance of muslim states caused Russia to support the native christians as asubterfuge and intervened in affairs relating to CAUCASIA and caused long wars by setting military forces. During these wars, different Khans and governors of CAUCASIA took up different positions. Some of them such as IBRAHIM KHALIL KHAN Javanshir, Georgians and Armenians of Gharabagh accompanied Russia. Some of them took bilateral policy so that they had relations with both Iran and Russia and thought only their own interests. Among them, we can point Mostafa Khan Shervani, Mostafa Khan Talesh, and Jafar Gholi Khan Donbali.
