PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF WATERBORNE MAGNETIC POLYURETHANE NANOCOMPOSITES CONJUGATED WITH INSULIN FOR INCREASING THE SUSTAINABILITY OF THE DRUG

Abstract

 In this study, in order to improve the sustainability and thermal stability of the INSULIN, magnetic POLYURETHANE ELASTOMERs were used as the carrier. Magnetic IRON OXIDE NANOPARTICLES were used to synthesis waterborne magnetic polyurethane nanocomposite and to avoid aggregation of nanoparticles in the human body as well as to increase the half-life durability, the nanoparticles were modified by using dipodal silane (ECA) which is the reaction product of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTS) and 3-glycidyloxy-propyltrimethoxysilane (GPTS). The resultant nanoparticles were used in combination with waterborne POLYURETHANE ELASTOMERs in order to increase the biocompatibility and biodegrability synthesized MAGNETIC NANOCOMPOSITEs. Successful synthesis of these compounds was confirmed by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), and Scanning and Transmission Electron Microscopy (SEM/TEM).
