EVALUATION THE PASSENGERS' FEELING OF SAFETY IN URBAN PUBLIC SPACES CASE STUDY: FOREST PARKS IN GORGAN (NAHARKHORAN AND ALANGDARREH)

Abstract

 Introduction: if urban PUBLIC SPACES as the social context have a sense of SECURITY, they bring peace to the city, and also increase the level of interaction and social activities of the residence, and finally enhance satisfactory environment and favorable impression on the citizens. The aim of this research is to develop a general knowledge about the sense of SECURITY on PASSENGERS from the GORGAN's FOREST PARKS. Method: The methodology of the research is survey research. The population of the study is all PASSENGERS referred to FOREST PARKS in GORGAN, in the summer of 1394. By using random sampling methodology, 384 samples were selected and studied by questionnaires.Findings: The results show that the actions of the police and owners of tourism have a positive impact on the sense of SECURITY in PASSENGERS. Also the sense of SECURITY on PASSENGERS is different in terms of gender, education level, and age. So the ratio of men to women, highly educated PASSENGERS to less educated PASSENGERS, Adults and elderly PASSENGERS to younger PASSENGERS feel more secure. The results also showed that there is a significant relationship between two variables, feeling of SECURITY of PASSENGERS and their desire to reengage in FOREST PARKS.Conclusions: The desirable sense of SECURITY in PASSENGERS who visit the FOREST PARKS in GORGAN is the result of actions takenin, such as accurate and continuous monitoring of authorities, good facilities and services, using appropriate information tools, desirable performance of SECURITY forces. Finally, it is essential to pay special attention to PASSENGERS' sense of social SECURITY in PUBLIC SPACES especially FOREST PARKS because vitality, relaxation, and health in everyday life is disrupted by insecurity in these locations.
