Abstract

 The main objective of the present study was to investigate the effect of applying ICT on EMPOWERING teachers’ job in bushehr. This research was descriptive and in post-occurrence causal type, the population of this research were the official male and female teachers in the cITy of Bushehr in the scholastic year 91-92 who used ICT facilITies in their schools. The research sample consisted of 150 teachers who were selected through available sampling method. Data collection included two questionnaires related to ICT (researcher-made) and teachers’ empowerment scale (standard). The appropriateness of the tools was determined according to content validITy and ITs reliabilITy was estimated by Cronbach’s alpha in, performance improvement indicators of teachers, independence and freedom of action in teachers, and increased decision-making responsibilITies. The result showed that the use of ICT has been significantly effective on the improvement of the qualITy of performance and increasing the decision- making responsibilITy, however, the use of ICT does not affect the independence and freedom of their action.
