Abstract

In this article, the relationship between physicians and patients was studied. The study started with the notion of placebo in which physicians cure their patients without giving medicine to them. Szasz Thomas recognizes three models of relationship: (1) active and passive interaction; (2) the model in which patients cooperate with physicians’ treatment; (3) mutual participation. The relationship between patients and physicians in regard to their social class was, also, studied. Coffman’s strategic models, Parson’s variable patterns and David Tachett’s ideas about physicians were investigated, too.
