Abstract

MARKET BASKET selection is a decision-making process of selecting some articles in purchasing process by a customer. Interdependence in communicated demand of articles is the key feature of MARKET BASKET selection. In this paper, one of the DATA MINING methods based on ASSOCIATION RULES derivation is applied to determination of MARKET BASKET in CHAIN STOREs. A DATA MINING algorithm for deriving of ASSOCIATION RULES in CHAIN STOREs is also developed. Then optimal discount values on proposed DISCOUNTED PACKAGEs obtaining from ASSOCIATION RULES are determined. In addition, other strategies for performance improving and enhancing of customer satisfaction and profitability in CHAIN STOREs are provided.
