Abstract

This article discusses the similarities between Haft Orang stories and other stories in verse or prose made by writers and poets prior to JAMI and his adaptation of these stories. After introduction, review of literature, JAMI's biography, and reviewing his works, the researchers investigated these similarities in JAMI's masnavis in a chronological order. "Salaman and Absal", "Usef and Zoleikha" and "Leili and Majnoon" were excluded from this study because their stories are too long and related to each other.JAMI was under the influence of Mowlavi's "Masnavi-e-Manavi" in the first chapter of "Selselato-al-zehab". In the second chapter he was under the influence of Attar's "Tazkerato-al-Olia" and "Nafahat-oons" and in the third chapter, he was influenced by Aruzi Samarghandi's "Chahar Maghaleh" and in "Sohbato-al Abrar by Hallaj's "Tawasin".He was also under the influence of Nasro-Lah Monshi' "Kelileh and Demneh" in "Tohfat-o-al-Ahrar" and of Nezami's "Eskandar Nameh" in "Kherad Name-ye-Eskandari".
