Abstract

This study examined the relationship between the belief to complete the task and SELF-ESTEEM with the MENTAL HEALTH of female students in a secondary school in Meshkin Shahr city. This research was a field study and a descriptive one. Its method was correlational. The population included approximately 4253 female students from whom 353 students were selected as a sample through cluster sampling. For collecting of the data the SELF-ESTEEM questionaire of Cooper Smith and the MENTAL HEALTH questionaire of Derogates and the researcher made questionaire of belief to complete the task were used. To explore the relationship between the variables and calculate the rate of the relationship the multivariate regression model and Pearson correlation coefficient analyses were used. The results showed a positive significant relationship between the task-completion belief and MENTAL HEALTH and also between the task-completion belief and MENTAL HEALTH and also between the SELF-ESTEEM and MENTAL HEALTH of the participants. The results of Multivariate regression analysis indicated that both variables of task-completion belief and SELF-ESTEEM can predicate the MENTAL HEALTH of the participants.
