Abstract

The increasing importance of energy resources in the shaping and development of economic processes highlights the identification and study of factors that influence ENERGY CONSUMPTION. In this regard, WOMEN's role is important in energy management. In this paper the effects of WOMEN population, men population, and income and technology progress on ENERGY CONSUMPTION have been investigated. The empirical results from employing PANEL COINTEGRATION TECHNIQUE show that the variables of WOMEN and men population have a significant positive effect on energy eonsumption and that WOMEN play a key role in optimizing ENERGY CONSUMPTION. The variable of income, too, has a significant positive effect on ENERGY CONSUMPTION. However, the variables of oil price and technology progress have a significant, negative effect on ENERGY CONSUMPTION.
