Abstract

Ms. is the most common chronic disease of the central nervous system. Unpredictable nature of the symptoms and the involvement in the young age creates many patients with mental disorders which include the high ANXIETY and low self-esteem. This study was conducted with the aim to determine the effect of GROUP LOGO THERAPY on reducing ANXIETY and increasing self-esteem in patients with MS. Method: This is quasi-experimental study of sampling methods available. The samples were randomly placed in test and control groups. The experimental group attended 10 sessions of logo therapy. collection tools included Cooper Smite self-esteem inventory and self rating ANXIETY scale. Data was analyzed using t-test and covariance Results: In this study, 20 subjects (10 controls and 10 experiments) attended. The average of ANXIETY and self-esteem before the intervention showed no significant difference. But after the intervention (in the post-test and follow-up) differences between test and control groups in mean ANXIETY and self-esteem were significant (p<0.05). Conclusion: Considering the effectiveness of this method it can be said that a GROUP LOGO THERAPY is effective reducing ANXIETY, increasing self–esteem of patients with MS. So the use of this therapy in other patients is recommended.
