Abstract

This article will study the social and cultural consequences of urban spaces on women and girls in which the construct of SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT was utilized. In this regard, the social consequences of SHAHR-E BANOO COMPLEX was evaluated in ten phases. Deep interviews were done with 30 women including some municipality officials, women who made use of the utilities that this complex offered, including the library, and the neighborhood council. Some negative effects of this complex was that constrained women to these areas and prevented them from utilizing other public spaces of the city. However, positive effects seem to outweigh the negative ones such that STRENGTHENING THE FAMILY, improvement of the relations between father and daughter, helping mothers in rearing children, reduction of some forms of deviance, enhancing social, psychological, and physical EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN are among them.
