Abstract

Urbanization has increased rapidly in Iran since 1335 (1956) when the first census was taken. Population increase and the development of construction industry led to the construction of multi -storied buildings in urban areas. This special proximity and the elimination of natural spaces can have deleterious effects of human behavior. Security and the sense of safety is among humans ' most elementary needs. One of the factors that can affect people's sense of security is SOCIAL CAPITAL which can be measured using indices like TRUST, SOCIAL RELATIONS, and SOCIAL PARTICIPATION. This is survey research which uses a questionnaire and its r e search population consists of the residents of APARTMENT COMPLEXES in the city of Esfahan, of which, using a cluster and random sampling technique, 225 individuals were selected as research sample. AMOS statistical software was used to analyze the data. The results showed that SOCIAL CAPITAL as the independent variable and sense of security as the dependent variable were significantly related.
