Abstract

Urban Tourism can cause high many changes in social, physical, economic, political and environmental spheres of host societies. The 22nd district of Tehran, looked at from an urban perspective, is considered to be the newly established city in the city of Tehran and has a high potential for development in terms of natural and human resources. The growth and development of Tourism infrastructure and services, as well as the establishment of recreational and Tourism complexes in the region has been dramatic in the past few years. One of the projects in the region is the Hezaro Yek Shahr Project. Since carrying out any Tourism project will have positive and negative effects on the environmental and on people, identifying these consequences for the future of Tourism activities of the region is very necessary. The present research is a descriptive-analytic one. The main tool for collecting research data was questionnaire. The results showed that given the lack of significant destructive effects of the project and that it has had more beneficial effects, the continuation of this project is fully supported by from a socioeconomic viewpoint. Due to the existence of parameters with high destructive effects in the project, there is no possibility of complete project approval. According to the results of the evaluations, the project needs to be continued but certain improvements have to be carried out.
