Abstract

At the first Islamic age, MOSQUE was the main institution with social and political functions which are now conducted by other several institutions because of structural parting in modern era. However in the years of ISLAMIC REVOLUTION OF IRAN, this potentiality flourished by clerical leadership. The writers want to recognize this social and political capacity Of MOSQUE in these years by applying the Functionalist Approach of Talcott Parsons and Robert King Merton based on historical facts, which verify dysfunction of iranian MOSQUEs in dominant cultural system plus their hidden function in communicating between revolutionaries that reinforced total nonbalance in dominant social system.
