Abstract

Neighborhood as a social and economic identity can meet the daily needs of a city. It possesses a social nature which is the source of facilities and social services. The sustainable economy of the neighborhood, on the other hand, offers the inhabitants as well as the urban managers the opportunity for making use of investment in a given neighborhood which in turns causes providing better social services, decreasing the costs, and finally increasing self-employment costs. In the present study, Babookan was selected as the case of the study since the majority of its areas were devoted to farming and gardens. In this study using an analytical approach the sustainable features of neighborhood were determined. It is predicted that through the use of potentials of the neighborhood in Babookan the area can be strengthened so that it will become a famous tourist center in Isfahan. Also because of the effect of farming on each area, this area can be socially and economically changed through creating job opportunities and opening more shopping places.
