Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the relationship between cultural investment and tourism development in Tehran. This research is a descriptive-survey. The statistical population of the study includes all managers, deputies and experts of Tehran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and tourism Organization who served in one of the affiliated centers of Tehran in 1995-96. The statistical population of the study consisted of 234 managers, deputies and experts of Tehran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and tourism Organization. The findings of the study indicated that the variables of natural attraction, cultural attraction, man-made attraction and cultural investment had a positive significant relationship (99%) with cultural investment variable in all cases. Also regression analysis for interpreting the prediction rate of development of natural, manmade and cultural attractions by cultural investment showed that the cultural investment would predict 0. 285, 0. 226 and 0. 394 of changes in the development of manmade natural and cultural attractions, respectively while anticipating the culture.
