Abstract

The study aims at predicting mental health of pre-service teachers in Farhangian University based on spiritual intelligence and the practice of religious beliefs. The research method is correlation. For this purpose, 326 pre-service teachers (147 female and 177 male) were selected by convenience sampling method. The participants responded to spiritual intelligence questionnaires, the practice of religious beliefs and mental health. Data was analyzed using "Multiple Regression". The findings indicate that there is a significant positive correlation between mental health and spiritual intelligence (r=0. 43, p<0. 01) and practice religious beliefs and mental health (r=0. 28, p<0. 01). Also, the results of multivariate regression analysis showed that the spiritual intelligence could predict mental health of pre-service teachers in Farhangian University. While the practice of religious beliefs had no significant role in predicting mental health of pre-service teachers in Farhangian University. Generally, the results showed that spiritual intelligence is able to explain the mental health of pre-service teachers of Farhangian University.
