Abstract

Giving an exact and comprehensive definition of huMAN being has become a dominant and challenging preoccupation of different philosophical schools and cultures. Both philosophers and thinkers have offered various definitions of huMAN being. What seems to be of significant importance in most of the definitions given is the cultural as well historical influence of different periods on social interactions. The current paper attempts to study the influence of Greek philosophy, especially the writings of FLOTIN, on such post-Islamic Iranian writers as NASSER KHOSROW Ghobadiyani. This paper also tries to compare and contrast the ideals of these two thinkers. On the whole, what these they were mostly concerned about were the spirit of the age issues and things that the people of the period were mostly concerned with.
