Abstract

This article examines indigenous and modern knowledge in traditional participatory management Exploitation of the grassland in Mamassani tribe in Fars and Changes made by Quasi-government modernization program. In this article Grounded theory and the techniques of Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA), Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), Semi-structured interviews, Observation, Walking in the field and Focus groups have been used. The statistical sample has been chosen by the snowball method to comment on the data saturation stage, and after analyzing data collected from the field through coding (open coding, axial coding and selective coding) with the central class selection "grassland sustainable participatory management", it has been attempted to derive a theory based on data collected from field. For "traditional participatory management", the theory of "Elements of nomadic culture as factors in the development of spontaneous participation" was obtained from data and for "Disintegration of the traditional participation" the theory of "governmental modernism and clutter of traditional participatory management operation of the pasture" was obtained from data.
