Abstract

Increasing the SOCIAL STATUS of SOLDIERs is one of the many factors affecting voluntary MILITARY SERVICE by young people and high productivity in this period in increasing the military and defense capabilities to protect the security of the country. This article aims to evaluate the perspective of people in Tehran city toward SOCIAL STATUS of SOLDIERs and affecting factors on it. The research method is survey with a sample of 384 households selected by Cochran’s formula and a cluster sampling method. The study show that 17% of respondents consider a high SOCIAL STATUS for SOLDIERs, 47% moderate and 35% consider a lower status. Among the social, cultural, biological and militarily factors discussed in the research, respondents the rank of social factors in the first place, biological factors in the second, cultural in the third and military factors as the forth in enhancing the SOCIAL STATUS of SOLDIERs.
