Abstract

Imam Mohammad GHAZALI (1058-1111 C.E.), known as Hojat al-Islam, and Immanuel KANT (1734-1804 C.E) are two distinguished figures in the history of thought who exercised a strong influence on the ETHIC of their societies. Their main aim was protection and safeguarding of religion. This article firstly presents the viewpoints of GHAZALI on the LEGAL GOOD AND EVIL and then compares it with the KANTian ETHICal principles. Finally we come to the conclusion that the ETHIC based upon the LEGAL GOOD AND EVIL is severely restricted and leads to a violation of legal codes and divine laws.
