Abstract

Textbooks are the most important part of a syllabus to which the main part of teaching are allocated. Besides, it is the basis of teaching and learning process. A well-structured textbook plays an incomparable role in the learning process of students, and it is a great aid in reaching Educational Goals. However, a book with deficiencies hinders teaching and the learning process. The suitability of source books and their selection criteria are the topics best investigated by the related sciences, especially psychology, educational science, and educational technology. In this regard, we aim to evaluate the structural, formal, and lingual criteria in “ Basic Principles of Theoretical Myssticism” by Saeed Rahimian. On the basis of these standards, the major shortcomings of this book are enumerated. It is hoped that these suggestions lead to technical correction and removal of conspicuous shortcomings so a book with even the minimum respect to those criteria is available to enthusiasts to Islamic sciences especially interesting mystics teaching.
