Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension associated with type 2 DIABETES and always have seen in most patients with type 2 DIABETES. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of AEROBIC TRAINING on blood pressure in type 2 diabetic women. Methods: 32 type 2 diabetic patients with hypertension were randomly divided into two groups: aerobic sport group (n=16) and control group (no exercise) (n=16). Subjects were done aerobic exercise 3 days per week, each session lasting 45 to 60 minutes. Hypertensive subjects before and after AEROBIC TRAINING were measured. Results: No significant difference in blood parameters of systolic, diastolic and pulse rate were observed statistically between the two groups. Independent t-test showed that the posttest between the two groups in SYSTOLIC BLOOD PRESSURE (p<0.000) and diastolic (p<0.009), there was a significant difference between the two groups in heart rate (p<0.224) difference significant. However, paired t-test showed that SYSTOLIC BLOOD PRESSURE (p<0.000) and diastolic (p<0.003) and heart rate (p<0.000) decreased significantly in AEROBIC TRAINING group. DIASTOLIC BLOOD PRESSURE was significantly increased only in the control group (p<0.003). Conclusion: According to the results AEROBIC TRAINING may reduce blood pressure in type 2 DIABETES women with hypertension, it is recommended that AEROBIC TRAINING associated with the drug therapy may be prescribed to type 2 DIABETES women to help control the disease.
