Abstract

The goal of present research is to investigating the relationship between CORPORATE GOVERNANCE and EFFICIENCY OF INVENTORY MANAGEMENT of listed companies of Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE).Ownership structure variables (corporate ownership, managerial ownership and institutional ownership and ownership concentration) and BOARD COMPOSITION (board size, the percentage of non-duty members of the board of directors and role ambiguity CEO) as a measure criteria of CORPORATE GOVERNANCE and mean of inventory to sale ratio as a measure criteria EFFICIENCY OF INVENTORY MANAGEMENT. Statistical society of present study consists of 75 listed companies of Tehran Stock Exchange during 2005 to 2011. Multivariable linear regression analysis is used to test the hypotheses. The results indicate that, there is a direct and significant association between corporate ownership, managerial ownership and institutional ownership and EFFICIENCY OF INVENTORY MANAGEMENT, but there was no significant association between ownership concentration and EFFICIENCY OF INVENTORY MANAGEMENT. As well as, there is a direct and significant association between board size and EFFICIENCY OF INVENTORY MANAGEMENT and there is a inverse and significant association between role ambiguity CEO, Percentage of non-duty members of the board and EFFICIENCY OF INVENTORY MANAGEMENT.
