Abstract

The problem of this article is SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT of a decision to demolish the Rey bridge in south of TEHRAN to achieve social goals and improving quality of life in this district. Social theory with emphasizing the applied sociology in the form of SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (SIA) has been applied to study this decision. Survey, documentary and qualitative methods also used to evaluate the decision and providing applied guides for URBAN MANAGEMENT also practiced. The results of various branches of data analysis showed that demolishing the bridge has no real positive effect, and then, the URBAN MANAGEMENT stopped it. The article shows that social knowledge could be applied successfully for improving URBAN MANAGEMENT and decision making.
