Abstract

Background and objectives: In today’s world, with the growing trend of the use of information technology we are faced with new issues and problems. The use of modern media technologies has many advantages and disadvantages. One of the ways to deal with SOFT THREATS and cybercriminals is to use filtering and access control.Methodology: By examining 250 samples of the statistical population of Internet users and cyber-space among STUDENTS of Tehran and Semnan universities using questionnaires, non-experimental and mixed method (field-library), threats of social security in CYBERSPACE have been identified and the ways of defense and coping with these hazards and the effectiveness of filtering access control have been investigated.Findings and results: In this study, it was revealed that 82.5% of the samples visited filtered sites and 77.5% used VPNs; 67% of the samples were members of the Facebook social network, and 46.5% of them were present at the internet appointment. 23.5% of the respondents said they were deceived in CYBERSPACE. Also, 54.5% of them used pornographic sites, 59% recreation and entertainment, 27.5% dating, 45.5% chat and conversation. Due to the high costs of filtering in the country and breaking access barriers by 80% of users, educating proper Internet usage and cyber threats can have more favorable results than filtering. Also, the lack of education and information for STUDENTS and Internet users would lead to the high degree of statistical use of pornographic, dangerous, dating, and deceptive sites and delusion, damage and threats to social security in the CYBERSPACE and the real world of society.
