Abstract

The unique strategic position of Islamic Republic of Iran (especially Chabahar Port) in the region and its outstanding geographical position in north-south TRANSPORT corridors and its opportunities to have domestic and regional relationships in Asia, especially Iran roadways to Middle Asia have been considered as benefits of TRANSPORT in Iran; So, using the best of these benefits bringsup new opportunities for TRANSPORTation industry and economic development of the country. Therefore, by investigating the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to Chabahar Port regarding TRANSIT, appropriate strategies are adopted for development of TRANSIT through this port which helps in economic development in the region and the country. Meanwhile, due to the advantages of Chabahar Port and the maritime sector over other sectors (e.g. rail, road …), this study has placed a great emphasis on the maritime sector.
