Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the positive and NEGATIVE REASONs for ATHLETEs to POLITICS. Methods of this study was a descriptive, in terms of data collection was survey. The population consisted of talented ATHLETEs to POLITICS (N=250), Therefor, 154 professional ATHLETEs that have top condition select as sample. Measuring tools were two given questionnaire (11 questions on POSITIVE REASON and 7 questions on NEGATIVE REASON), formal and content validity of the tools was confirmed by experts, and tools reliability for positive and NEGATIVE REASONs were obtained using Cronbach' s alpha of 0.87, 0.84, respectively. Factor analysis, with a varimax rotation was used to analyze the data. According factor analysis, of the 18 Problems, 17 items having appropriate factor loading were stand in 6 factors namely social mechanism, diplomatic mechanism, national idea, national support, social weapon & political weapon. Result showed that social mechanism factors had most important (%24.954 of variance) in explanation of POSITIVE REASON of ATHLETEs entering to POLITICS and social weapon had most important (%12.954 of variance) in explanation of NEGATIVE REASON of entering ATHLETEs to POLITICS arena.
