Pages

  101-114

Abstract

Media are born by news. They are trying to do their duty to reflect events and realities of the world. But in today's world, many media particularly the West media give the special meaning to events by phenomenon categorizing. Indeed, they see their favorite events in countries, especially the third-world and developing countries in their own way. The process of gathering, selecting and distributing of news by them, is induction process which is mixed by unrealistic structure that sometimes represents the truth. What the West media study against Iran, is categorized in two items: IMAGE-MAKING and SOFT WAR. In IMAGE-MAKING, a dummy space is created against Iran. IMAGE-MAKING is an unrealistic notion of reality that is shown to audience. However this image has some similarities to reality. According to Imam Ali in Hadith: "Like most things on the right, is avoid." For example, the West media have presented the Taliban as an Islamic model while this image does not match with reality at all and this terrorist group can not represent the real Islam. They try to create instability in the audience's beliefs through SOFT WAR and media actions. This research analyzes the West media discourse against Iran.
