Abstract

Purpose: This study deals with the VISIBILITY and influence rate of different links in IRANian virtual universities websites.Methodology: This is an applied Scientometrics study. The community research is consisted of websites of 21 non medical universities websites and 8 websites of IRANian medical universities. The websites have been retrieved by the use of searching and Google Webometics tools and were downloaded on personal computers to analyze their links.Findings: The study results show that websites of virtual universities of Tehran with 74970 points, Sistan and Baluchistan with 48048 points and Olum Hadis with 43097 points are ranked from first to third. Also websites of virtual UNIVERSITY of Qom with 28 points has ranked the last.Conclusion: The study revealed that IRANian universities have not a considerable appearance on the Web. This is due to the lack of English pages on their Web sites as well as being new institutions.
