Abstract

This assay is compiled with the aim of investigation into forming of luster decorations on glazes. Therefore, in "order to achieve this purpose, some of old recipes and instructions regarded to the production of LUSTRE decoration was observed. Also scientific studies have been done to identify components of the luster layer. Practical section of the article, which forms the main part of this article, is based on theoretical issues. The paper has collected some of theoretical aspects of lucre formation and results of practical affairs that relevant to luster decoration in the unit text. The article has investigated firing of some luster pigments on the suitable GROUND GLAZE in the special kiln that established for this purpose. Result of examinations shows that soluble pigments with different ratios of copper acetate to silver nitrate can produce luster layer with color range diversion on GROUND GLAZE. The best results have obtained by firing of soluble pigment with Four to One ratio of copper oxide to silver oxide in REDUCTION ATMOSPHERE of kiln.
