Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the National identity in the 10th Grade mathematics and statistics textbook. The method of research is quantitative and qualitative Content analysis. The dimensions of National identity in this research are the symbol, value, cultural heritage, celebrities and characters, events and happenings. The statistical population is the 10th Grade mathematics and statistics textbook. The results of the quantitative analysis show that 55 references to the concept of National identity are mentioned. Among the dimensions of National identity, the dimension of cultural heritage with 38. 18% of the highest frequency and events and happenings with 1. 81% have the lowest frequency. The results of the qualitative analysis show the attention to books and to places and buildings in the cultural heritage, and the low use of hadiths, verses. Also, in the dimension of national values, attention to social values and in the dimension of celebrities and characters, the lack of attention to contemporary celebrities.
