Abstract

 The obsessive-compulsive personality disorder described for the first time by Freud almost 100 years ago, characterized as the most common personality disorder among the general population. The disorder is associated with at least average destruction of psychosocial function and a decline in quality of life, and imposes significant economic burdens. The obsessive personality disorder in the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Psychiatric Disorders has been defined as a general pattern of excessive concern with orderliness, perfectionism, and mental and interpersonal control, loss of personal flexibility, openness and efficacy, starting in the early stages of adulthood, and it seen in various domains. perfectionism as an important feature of obsessive disorder is a tendency to regulate unrealistic high standards and highly critical selfassessments. In The present study, the perfectionism as one of the main characteristics of obsessive personality disorder has been investigated. The results of studies support the point that focusing on treatment of perfectionism can lead to better therapeutic responses in the problems which including doubts about works and worries about mistakes. Understanding other intervening variables will help the results of clinical trials and research.
