Abstract

The following research has attempted to provide the statistic characteristics of the GOODENOUGH-HARRIS MAN DRAWING TEST (GHMDT) as a DEVELOPMENTal scale in primary SCHOOL CHILDREN in Boushehr. In this study, 365 boys in six age groups including 6, 7, 8 , 9 , 10, 11 years old have been randomly selected through a multi-steps procedure. Administration and scoring of the scale were the same as the Goodenough-Harris (1963) which included 73 items for scoring. One-way variance analyses revealed that there were significant differences among the age groups. Comparing these results with the American populations demonstrated that the subjects of the present research had DEVELOPMENTal delay, while comparing with children from Shiraz indicated similar DEVELOPMENTal level. Further results revealed that the GHMDT scores for the total subjects were correlated with all school achievement's subjects, except for math. Moreover, the RELIABILITY coefficient by a test-retest method with one month interval was 0.70 and contingency cosecant for the 7 and 10 year groups were 0.76 and 0.63 respectively. The VALIDITY of the scale was 0.24 with the Raven Colored Questionnaire and -0.63 with the Bender-Gestalt Test. In general, all findings supported the hypotheses.
