Abstract

Islamic Republic of Iran has a high strategic and critical status in Middle East. The mission of I. R. Iran armed forces is to protect its independence, territorial integrity, and political system. Fulfilling such a mission will require combat readiness against counteract threats, and therefore, assessing factors and sub-factors of combat superiority, and their methods of application is an important task. Accordingly, this paper aims to assess these sub-factors with an asymmetric threats approach. Factors and sub-factors are gathered from existing literature via document reviews, and interviews. Gathered data has been standardized and categorized by screening based on their importance. Results show that I. R. Iran armed force is in a good condition according to Superiority sub-factors. Hence, by reinforcing sub-factors, it is possible to reach a higher combat readiness.
