Abstract

Nokhbat-al-Bayan is truly considered a scholarly written masterpiece in the Persian language about rhetoric's. The book presents four principles of TROPE and allusion especially METAPHOR and SIMILE in discourse via a skillful anthology of interesting subjects. This article attempts to present and discuss the book and recommend it as an appropriate and prerequisite material for rhetoric courses. Meanwhile, after careful examination of the early manuscripts and the printed versions, the article aims at studying the origin of an important mistake at the outset of this-eloquent book. Suggestions are made regarding the removing of that problem.
