Abstract

Road Accidents are among the major public Health problem and a political priority for any country around the world. In Iran, road injuries play a more prominent role. Among the countries with the worst Road insecurity (red status), Iran is among the top five countries. Statistics show that Iran’ s population is about 1% of the world, but its share of road casualties is 2% of global casualties, one a half of global average. In Iran, for improving road safety and accident reduction, regarding the experience of other countries and the challenges of unsafe road intensification in the future, we first need to formulate a scenario for the unsafe future of the roads. Then, considering factors such as the formation of a permanent council of road safety can be very useful for monitoring and evaluating road safety.
