Predicting Emotional Divorce Based on Decision-making Styles and Power Structure in the Family among Employed Women

Abstract

 The aim of current study was to predict predicting emotional divorce based on decision-making styles and power structure of in the family among employed women of the in Shahrood city. In this descriptivecorrelational study, all employed women in Shahrood city were considered as statistical population and from among them 384 people were considered as statistical sample using Morgan table and also available convenience sampling. Data were collected using standard questionnaires of decision-making styles of Scott and Bruce Inventory, Power Structure of Mahdavi and Khosroshahi Inventory, as well as Gottman's emotional divorce Inventory. After collecting questionnaires, data was analyzed using by regression tests. The results of this study showed that the decision-making styles and power structure of the family explain 41 percent of variance. Spontaneousness, Avoidance, and intuitive decision-making styles have positive and significant role in predicting emotional divorce and while rational and dependent decision-making style did not show any effect. In addition, the outcomes findings revealed that building power relations the sturcure of power relations along with the domains and scope of power exercising have significant role in predicting emotional divorce andwhile method of exercising power exercising did not. So As decision-making styles and power structres in families can predict the emotional divorce, the reduction of emotional divorce among employed women in Shahrood can be achieved by educating them on decision-making styles and improvement of power structure in families. with training decision-making styles and improvement structure of the family can help reducing emotional divorce among employed women in Shahrood city.
